Nauni varsity signs MoU for renewable energy, landscaping, food processing
The Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture & Forestry (UHF), Nauni signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ludhiana based Soft-Tech Renewable Energies for a joint programme of Research, Development, Demonstration and Promotion of renewable energy technologies. Under the agreement, the company will work with the university for submitting joint projects in the field of renewable energy to various funding agencies. Besides, working on the development of solar chulha for cooking, space and water heating, the two parties will also undertake research on thermally efficient solar drier with phase change material and solar thermal application for waste-water treatment. Both partners will also jointly design renewable energy systems for potential technologies and applications. The company with the help of UHF scientists will jointly evaluate the system performance and publish the success stories in national and international journals. The possibilities for filing joint patents of innovative ideas during the execution of MoU will also be explored. The university also signed an MoU with Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Institute of Engineering and Technology, Pragatinagar for co-operation in the fields of Landscaping, Food Processing and apple cultivation. The tie-up will involve the exchange of scientific and technical information. Moreover, the students of both institutions will undertake exchange and visits and conduct joint research activities. Joint seminars and conferences, faculty development programmes and training of students will also be undertaken as part of the collaboration.The MoUs were signed by Director Research Dr JN Sharma, in the presence of Vice-Chancellor Dr Parvinder Kaushal. Deans Dr ML Bhardwaj and Dr Kulwant Rai and university scientists Dr SK Bhardwaj, Dr KK Raina and Dr RK Aggarwal were also present on the occasion.
