CIPET DG Prof. Shishir Sinha Reviews Training and Infrastructure at Baddi Centre

The Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET) CSTS Baddi, under the Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, has been a key player in providing high-quality technical education and nearly 100% placement for youth in the petrochemical and allied sectors across Himachal Pradesh for over a decade.
On July 21, Prof. (Dr.) Shishir Sinha, Director General of CIPET and currently on lien from IIT Roorkee, paid a visit to the CIPET Baddi Centre to review its academic and infrastructural progress.
Key Highlights of the Visit:
Inspection of Training Programs:
Prof. Sinha conducted a detailed inspection of the ongoing skill development and diploma programs. He interacted with students and reviewed the delivery of short-term NSQF-aligned courses, long-term diploma programs, and technical services provided by the centre.
Engagement with Stakeholders:
He held discussions with faculty members, administrative staff, and students, where he stressed the need for continued excellence in training delivery, student engagement, and institutional governance.
Review of Campus Expansion at Sandholi:
Prof. Sinha also visited the upcoming permanent campus at Sandholi, Baddi. He was briefed by Mr. Parminder Preet Singh, Joint Director & Head, CIPET Baddi, about the transition plan from the current rented premises at Jharmajri to the new state-of-the-art campus.
Expressing his satisfaction, Prof. Sinha lauded the Centre’s consistent efforts in workforce development and skill empowerment. He expressed confidence that the shift to the new campus would mark a significant leap forward in strengthening technical education infrastructure in the region.
