Pinegrove Celebrates 28th Annual Day
Pinegrove School, Dharampur District Solan celebrated its 28th Annual Day which was an adorable effort at putting together the finest acts that its students had mastered during the academic year. The Chief Guest gracing the occasion in the morning was VC Pharka, the Principal Advisor (RPG) to the Govt. of HP. The glittering function commenced with Western Symphony Orchestra in which the budding musicians attempted at bringing the musical prodigies alive through their rendition of the Ninth Symphony and the New Old Symphony by Beethoven, Boney M’s ‘By the rivers of Babylon’, Fats Domino’s ‘Blueberry Hill’ and Lim Jeong Hee’s ‘Scent of a Flower’. It was followed by the Annual School Report spoken with great pride by six students from classes IV and V. They unveiled all the scholastic and co-curricular activities undertaken during the academic session and highlighted the achievements of the school. The spectators were then transported to the land of melody riding the waves of Raag Yaman. A heartwarming play, ‘The Selfish Giant’ by Oscar Wilde taught that the best feeling of happiness is when you are happy because you have made someone else happy. Western Choir presented the timeless classics such as ‘Make me a channel of your peace’, ‘La isla Bonita’ and Do-Re-Mi. A dance drama depicting the agonizing dilemma faced by Hamlet was the high point of the show which made the audience identify with the complications of human psychology. The function in the evening was graced by Mr. C Paulrasu, the Secretary, TCP and Urban Development, Govt. of HP as the Chief Guest. Live music, dance, gymnastics and martial arts unfolded with a musical show presented by the School children. The show commenced with Ganesh Sthapana while the Jazz Band played out memorable tunes to entertain the audience. A rendition of ‘Mary did you know?’ by the Western Choir held the listeners in trance. The super confident and highly skilled Karate practitioners of the school displayed kicking, striking and defensive blocking with arms and legs as they exhibited Karate skills. The School Pipe Band displayed its prowess and delivered a perfectly harmonised performance. The students also showcased their gymnastics skills in an artistic manner which was quite praiseworthy. Ganesh Visarjan Dance was the show-stealer as the dancers captivated the audience with their striking postures, mesmerizing songs and hypnotic formations.
