Pinegrove Girls are Champions in under 19 Soccer
Defending champion team, Pinegrove School girls lifted the trophy of the All India IPSC Girls' under 19 Soccer championship by outplaying Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya, Gwalior in the much awaited final match of the tournament which was played at Pinegrove School, Dharampur, district Solan. The home team girls were under immense pressure as they had to defend the title in front of the cheering home crowd that was both exhilarating and intimidating! The host team proved that they were every bit a champion as they continued with their winning ways right from the previous year’s tournament to the current one winning 11 matches in a row without conceding a single goal!. The final scorecard read 3-0 in favour of Pinegrove. Sumedha of Pinegrove school was the star performer of the match and was awarded player of the final match prize. Nirmala, also of Pinegrove was adjudged the 'Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament'. Lhamit of Pinegrove bagged the 'Best Defender of the Tournament' award. The 'Best Mid Fielder of the Tournament' was awarded to Dikki Choden of Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya, Gwalior. Srishti of Pinegrove was adjudged the 'Highest Scorer of the Tournament'. Pasang of Pinegrove won the 'Best Player of the Tournament' award. 2nd Runners-up Trophy went to Assam Valley School, Assam, 1st Runners-up Trophy to Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya, Gwalior while Pinegrove School, Solan became the proud winners of the All India IPSC Soccer Girls Under-19, 2019 Trophy for the second time in a row. The curtains came down on the magnificent sporting event at the Closing Ceremony where the Chief Guest, K C Chaman (IAS) DC, Solan graced the event with his presence. He congratulated all the participants and winners and declared the Tournament closed.
