- Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt was born to actor parents Sunil Dutt and Nargis in Mumbai.
- Sanjay received his education from The Lawrence School, Sanawar near Kasauli.
- His debut film was Rocky, which released in 1981.
- Just three days before the release of Rocky, his mother Nargis died.
- After death of Nargis, Sanjay plunged into drug addiction.
Manyata is his third wife
Dutt married actress Richa Sharma in 1987. She died of a brain tumour in 1996. Dutt's second marriage was to air-hostess-turned-model Rhea Pillai in February.The divorce finalised in 2008. Dutt married Manyata in 2008. He is the father of twins born in 2010.
- After rehabilitation, Sanjay joined back the industry in 1985 to resume his career.
- In 1993, Sanjay was arrested on charges of involvement in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts. He spent 18 months in jail and got bail in April 1995.
- Later, the Supreme Court of India, in a judgement on 21 March 2013, convicted Dutt of illegal possession of arms relating to the 1993 Mumbai blasts case and sentenced him to five years imprisonment.
