Pinegrove and Welham Boys reach Finals
Hosts Pinegrove School and Welham Boys’ School will clash in the final of the 1st Invitational Cricket Tournament being played at Pinegrove School, Dharampur, District Solan. In the league matches on the second day of the tournament APS Dagshai lads outplayed PPS, Nabha in an exciting match after losing the toss and were invited to bat by their opponents. APS team put up a commendable 103 runs on the board. Chasing the target the PPS, Nabha could only muster 101 runs at the end of its spell of 15 overs. Gopal of APS Dagshai was awarded ‘Player of the Match’. In the second match between Welham Boys and Lawrence School, Sanawar, Welham boys won the toss and decided to bat first. In reply to their 127 runs, Lawrence School boys could manage only 80 runs and lost all their wickets. Aryan of Welham Boys was awarded ‘Player of the Match. In the first semi-final match played between APS, Dagshai and hosts Pinegrove School, APS won the toss and decided to bat first. They were all out for a paltry 40 runs. The host team achieved the target in just 5.1 overs without losing a single wicket. Devashish of the winning side walked away with ‘Player of the Match’. In the second semi-final played between Welham Boys and Mayo College, Welham won the toss and elected to bat first. They made 145 runs in 20 overs. In reply, Mayo boys was all out for 120 runs. Amaan Ahmed of Welham Boys School was awarded ‘Player of the Match’.
