Pinegrove Boys Lift Cricket Trophy
Pinegrove Boys lifted the trophy of the 1st Invitational Under-13 Cricket Tournament by outplaying Welham Boys’ School, Dehradun in an exciting final, played at Pinegrove School, Dharampur District Solan. The host team won the toss and decided to bat first. They made 126 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 4 wickets. Welham boys put up a valiant fight but succumbed to some lethal bowling attack that finished them for 105 runs. Pinegrove clinched the cup with a 21 runs victory over the hapless Welham boys. The Man of the Match award for the final match went to Devashish Saizal of Pinegrove School.
The Player of the Tournament was awarded to Yerik Gauri of Pinegrove School and the Upcoming Player of the Tournament was Krishnav of Welham Boys’ School, Dehradun. The Batsman of the Series went to Kalash of Pinegrove School while Devashish Saizal of Pinegrove School was awarded the Best Bowler of the Tournament. The award for the Best Wicket Keeper went to Akshat Sharma of Punjab Public School, Nabha. Aryan of Welham Boys School was named as the Best Fielder. The Chief Guest for the Closing Ceremony, Dr. Kinjal Suratwala, Director, Cricket Development, HPCA was all praises for the impressive sports infrastructure of Pinegrove School. He appreciated the classy display of cricketing acumen by both the finalists and wished them all the best for their cricketing career. Congratulating the winning team for achieving a glorious success in the tournament, he encouraged the players to do well in future too.
