Indian foreign minister to attend a lunch meeting with China, Russia counterparts in Moscow
Tensions continue between India and China on the Ladakh border, In spite of all the efforts being made to resolve the border dispute, China's nefarious activities are making it wasteful. At the same time, in the midst of border tension, India's Foreign Minister S Jaishankar and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi are going to have a meeting in Moscow.
The boundary dispute can be discussed in this lunch meeting. Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will also attend this meeting. It is believed that Russia can help ease border tensions.
Significantly, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar arrived in Moscow on Tuesday, amid tensions going on at the border between India and China. He will attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) foreign ministers' meeting here during his four-day visit.
His visit comes just a few days after Defense Minister Rajnath Singh traveled to Russia's capital. Singh was here to attend the eight-member SCO defense ministers meeting. Jaishankar will attend the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) meeting during his stay in Moscow. This will be the third meeting of the Council in which India will join as a full member.
