Director Virk promoting the culture of Himachal Pradesh
Gur Ikbal Singh, a 24-year-old boy living in Shimla and working as a director is trying to preserve the cultural heritage of Himachal Pradesh. He has represented Himachal Pradesh in many cultural events at various places in the country. Gur is basically from Mohali Chandigarh and thus preserving Punjabi as well as Pahadi culture. He has also won the hearts of a lot of people with his work throughout the state. You might have seen his infamous Himachali songs- “Bhawta”, “Gori tera gaon” and his dance makes him stand out from all the other people here in Himachal Pradesh. He has been a part of many fairs in Himachal Pradesh as a special guest some of them are - Winter Carnival Manali, Faag Fair Rampur. For the work he has done till now he has been awarded by the CM of Himachal Pradesh and by the education minister as the best culture promoter. He has worked with not only Himachali artists but also with Punjabi and artists from Uttrakhand. His vision and mission both happen to be promoting Himachali culture to another level and making serials, series, or even movies showing our cultural heritage.
