“Food doesn’t have a religion. It is a religion.” it is a tweet from Zomato’s official Twitter handle. Actually, a customer from Zabalpur wanted food to be delivered by a Hindu rider. Zomato declined to accept his preference based on the religion of the delivery boy, after which the customer asked Zomato to cancel the order and issue a refund. Zomato hadn’t processed a refund after cancelling the order and tweeted.
Zomato Founder Deepinder Goyal also tweeted, “We are proud of the idea of India - and the diversity of our esteemed customers and partners. We aren’t sorry to lose any business that comes in the way of our values. ”
People from every corner of India are praising the move by Zomato and company is getting huge public support for their stand.
